Are Explore Scientific eyepieces any good?
I must say I am always blown away by what Explore Scientific is doing as a company. These eyepieces are of excellent quality and the optical performance is quite amazing indeed. These eyepieces are great for planetary views, bringing in detail with the moon that I haven’t seen in a while. Mars is also fantastic!

Are 100 degree eyepieces worth it?
With such high power, the ES 100-degree eyepiece works great for planets as it still provides a huge field of view with contrast and sharpness across the entire view. Not only can you see greater detail in planetary features, but you can also keep that planet within the FOV longer.
Where are TeleVue eyepieces made?
All TeleVue eyepieces are made in either Japan or Taiwan. The Plossls are one of their lines that to the best of my knowledge have always been manufactured in Japan, to TeleVue’s specs.

We found that good star shapes extended to at least 90 per cent of the field of view and extraneous light from the close-by Moon was barely apparent. We really enjoyed using these eyepieces and heartily recommend them to intermediate and more experienced observers.

Are explore sci eyepieces comparable to the performance of Televue?
Some Explore Sci eyepieces are very close to the performance of their TeleVue counterparts, but not all. I’ll give a few examples. Explore Sci 100° vs TeleVue Ethos: ES 9/100 & 14/100 were both very close to the performance of TV 10E & 13E.
