Do you overlap Kerdi-band?
KERDI sheets may be joined using a lap seam. This approach allows you to combine membrane installation and joint sealing in one step. Make sure that the second sheet of KERDI membrane overlaps the first by at least 2”—you can make sure this is accomplished by marking the sheet 2” from the edge.
Can you use Kerdi on cement board?
Yes,Kerdi can be installed on drywall or cement board. However if installed on drywall it is only protecting one side. All shower/tub areas should have concrete board (I prefer hardiboard).
What is Kerdi fix used for?
Schluter®-KERDI-FIX is a single component, waterproof sealing and bonding compound with a silane-modified polymer base. KERDI-FIX can be used to waterproof pipe and valve protrusions in the Schluter®- Shower System in conjunction with the Schluter®-KERDI membrane and Schluter®- KERDI-BOARD.
What sizes does Kerdi board come in?
With the available panel thicknesses of 3/16″, 3/8″, 1/2″, 5/8″, 3/4″, 1″, 1-1/2″, and 2″ (5, 9, 12.5, 15, 19, 25, 38, and 50 mm), KERDI-BOARD allows the installer to prepare and create a broad range of substrates and building elements for the installation of ceramic and natural stone tile that are flat, level, plumb.
Can you put 2 Kerdi shower pans together?
Yes. The KERDI-SHOWER- T/-TS/-TT trays can be cut to size to fit various applications. Ideally, the tray should be cut by equal amounts on all four sides to ensure a consistent height of the first course of wall tile. The shower base can also be extended past the perimeter of the shower tray using dry pack mortar.
How soon can I tile after installing Kerdi-band?

Wait 24 hours after the membrane (i.e., Schluter®-KERDI-BAND and Schluter®-KERDI) installation is complete to allow for the final set of the mortar and to ensure waterproof performance of the assembly at seams and connections before water testing.
Why is there a shortage of KERDI-BOARD?
We are dealing with a raw material shortage as a result of COVID, and we are unable to source part of the materials required for our Kerdi-Board production.
