The fire ultimately stopped a half-mile from Drakes Crossing. No buildings were lost. A few miles to the south, at Silver Falls, crews were also successful. The combination of fire lines and improved conditions meant that only 127 acres of the 9,000-acre park burned, and only in the remote southeast section.

Difficulty: The full loop to see all 10 waterfalls (from South Falls to North Falls) is a moderate hike of 6.9 miles, gaining 700 feet of elevation, but the recommended shortcut (omitting Twin and North Falls) trims the loop to 5.1 miles. For a shorter, 2.8-mile loop, turn back after Lower South Falls.

After the north falls you walk near the road on a pretty flat and even downhill trail (Rim Trail) back to the south falls parking lot. I think an average time would be around 3 hours of walking if you are enjoying yourself. If you want to stop and rest and eat, add that time on as well.
