What is a carte de sejours?
Non-European Union Citizens: A Carte de Séjour, also known as a Titre de Séjour, is a residence permit required by French law for any non-European Union citizen staying in France for a period longer than three months. They must apply for a long stay visa (visa long séjour) prior to leaving their home country.
What is the difference between a carte de séjour and a titre de Sejour?
What’s the difference? While a Withdrawal Agreement (WA) residence permit and a carte de séjour describe the type of card we hold, a titre de séjour is any document that represents our legal right to reside in France.
How long does a carte de séjour last?
Those with less than 5 years’ residence will have to apply for one of the cartes de séjour which will be valid for between 1 and 5 years. The Withdrawal Agreements afford you the right to attain 5 years residence and then apply for a permanent card.
