What is Lpile used for?
LPILE is a special-purpose and internationally recognized computer program based on rational procedures for analyzing a pile under lateral loading using the p-y method. LPILE solves the differential equation for a beam-column using a finite difference approach.

What is an lpile analysis?
LPILE is a special-purpose program for analyzing a single pile (or drilled shaft) under lateral loading using the p-y method. The program computes lateral deflection, bending moment, shear force, and soil response over the length of the pile.
What is stiff clay with free water?
In the finite element program, a von Mises material was used to model the clay, and a Drucker-Prager material is used to simulate the sand.
What is PY curve?
P-Y curves are the numerical models used to simulate the response of soil resistance (p, soil resistance per unit length of the pile) to the pile deflection (y) for the piles under lateral loading. Ideally, p-y curves should be generated from full-scale lateral load tests on instrumented test piles.
What is a py curve?
Is stiff clay compressible?
Manivannan et al(1998) described some consolidation characteristics of fill made of dredged stiff clay lumps based on the centrifuge model. It is regarded that the compressibility of the overall system composed by two parts: inter-lumpy clay and lumpy clay particles.
What is Reese sand?
The Reese series consists of very deep, poorly drained soils that formed in alluvium and lacustrine deposits derived from volcanic ash and volcanic rocks. Reese soils are on alluvial flats and flood plains. Slopes are 0 to 2 percent. (Colors are for dry soil unless otherwise noted.)
What is stiff clay?
The stiffness of a clay is largely an index of its moisture content. The current definition of ‘stiff’ relates strictly to consistency.
Which soil is more compressible?
Clays are compressible. If a moist mass of clay is subjected to compression, moisture and air may be expelled, resulting in volume reduction which is not immediately recovered when the load is removed.
What is maximum dry density?
The dry density obtained by the compaction of soil at its optimum moisture content. Ref: Hammond.
What is TZ curve?
T-Z curve as the result analysis based on the instrumented pile test data describes the load distribution and mobilized skin friction along with the pile. This research to determine the different distribution of mobilized skin friction.
How does lpile plus work?
LPILE Plus has the capability to perform push-over analyses and can study the pile behavior after the development of plastic hinges (yielding). Several pile lengths can be automatically checked by the LPILE Plus program in order to help the user produce a design with an optimum pile penetration.
What is ensoft lpile plus?
ENSOFT have cutting-edge civil engineering applications such as LPILE Plus v5.0, GROUP v7.0. FORUM8 will distribute them. Product overview is as following. LPILE Plus is a special-purpose program based on rational procedures for analyzing a pile under lateral loading.
What is loadlpile plus?
LPILE Plus is a special-purpose program based on rational procedures for analyzing a pile under lateral loading. The program computes deflection, shear, bending moment, and soil response with respect to depth in nonlinear soils.
What is included in the lpile demo package?
LPILE comes equipped with electronic copies of detailed user’s manual and a technical manual, as well as over 50 examples and input files. Download and view the examples and input files with LPILE running in Demo mode.
